My paintings been exhibited in juried exhibitions throughout the New York metropolitan area, including exhibits at the Horticultural Society of New York, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and the Highstead, Frelinghuysen and Reeves-Reed Arboretums, and in several corporate galleries.
In 2010 and 2011 my work appeared in 'The Art of Botanical Illustration,' at the Rye Arts Center in Rye, NY, at the Renee Foosaner Gallery at the Paper Mill Playhouse, in Millburn, NJ, at the Crane's Mill Town Square Gallery in West Caldwell, NJ, where I won an Award of Merit, at the Eleventh Annual Gaelen Juried Art Show at the Lautenberg JCC in Whippany, NJ, where I won First Place in Watercolor, at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, and at the Art Upstairs Gallery at the Community Theater in Morristown, NJ.
And I had my very first solo show, Fran Henig - Botanical Watercolors, at the Gaelen Gallery East at the Leon & Toby Cooperman JCC in West Orange in November and December, 2010.
Most of my work is botanical, but I've recently written and illustrated a book -- 'Living in the Land of the Have-To's' -- that is different from anything I've done before. It's a whimsical journey through the thicket of Have-To's and Shoulds. The book is available through amazon.com and also at lulu.com. You can preview or download it at http://www.lulu.com/content/703269.
I hope you enjoy my work. Thanks for visiting!
For my recommendations on choosing the right paper for giclee prints of my work, please see my blog. I recommend archival matte or Somerset velvet for the best results.
